Actually, memory develops in the third trimester of pregnancy, though it's rare for an individual to recall anything.
I for one remember music my mother used to play for me when I was in the womb, not much else though.
Right, it's only a few memories... I don't recall full weeks/months. I distinctly remember suddenly being aware though, the moment of my "consciousness" if you will. I've always had a very heightened sense of awareness though. I recall several memories from when I was an infant and extremely well memories as a toddler/child as if it was yesterday, I remember breast feeding also... I much preferred it to bottles! That isn't as disturbing as it sounds because I recall how I felt about it at the time, not seeing how you might see it now as a grown person. I'm sure those are much more common though.
