Is it normal to really want a child?

  • Please wait until your own brain has finished developing before you make such a major decision - at least 25.

You don't have a child to give it everything. You have to discipline it and be at its beck and call 24/7. Please live your own life first and in the meantime, babysit for others a lot.

To be honest with you, I thought I was ready to have a child after having 2 dogs for 8 years, and having to be home at certain times to see to them etc.
BUT I swear that I could've managed 50 dogs easier than I could that one small baby!!!

Get a dog first to see the routine and problems associated with being tied to the house.

    Good luck!

      • Yep!!! He only slept 3 times a day for 20 mins and I had to drive round the town to get him to fall asleep in the car. He went down about 12.30am and woke at 5am until he was 6. He was so hyper no-one in the family offered any help to walk him or even babysit for an evening.

If I tell you the truth - he broke my marriage!!
Only I could love him. Kids are bloody hard :o(

        • my baby is unbelieveable easy, he slept all night since he was born, he is almost 1 year now, he likes playing for himself n cuddle, hes rly good at everything and learning 2 languages i've never had him babysat though but he is not clingy to me, he is a daddys boy. my hubby werent ready for kids at all and got so scared he sort of wanted me to get an abortion, so i took care of him alone and let him do what he wanted to when he felt comfortable.. my uncle got a baby 5 month older than mine, he is a 'devil' though really tough kid, just shows how very different even babies are, he wakes up 5 in the morning. My son wakes at 10 everyday.

            • I am totally delighted for you!!!

Thank God some people have good ones!

Although, I do have to say, my son is a great teenager who loves his mom. At 15 he's never smoked, drank, or had sex with a girl. I've told him plenty of time for all that melarkey :o)

I hope it continues to go well for you!
