Is it normal to question our existence and the significance of it everyday?

Everyday, I wake up, shit, eat, and do something for the day. But during the day, I randomly contemplate the world, reality, humanity, and my own mind. I think of things like “Wow, im a human and can think about things” “what is the point of living” “we are all going to die” and gets more depressing as I keep thinking. I dont believe in a god and im pretty nihilistic about humans and our existience. I have mild depression and sometimes feel anxious that I dont matter (mainly that nobody matters, we are all just animals that wear clothes and build stuff) and sometimes I think about suicide. Its not serious where Im emo and want to die, but its like “Wow, there is nothing stopping me from jumping off a cliff or jumping in front of a car but my own mind”. Im really into philosophy, religion, (although i dont believe, its just interesting) and behavioral psychology.

TL:DR Sorry for rambling nonsense. I just want to know, do you think about your own death, nothing matters in the world, and everone will die? Do you think about this everyday?

Hey, i used to be religious since childhood, my parents were muslim and religious so i followed their path, until i was 15 i started questioning everything from religion to existence, there was time when i used to think of those questions daily for months, until i gave it enough time and was aware of what i think is true, since i'm confident with what i believe in (i don't believe in god or religions anymore) this gave me my own perspective of life, and i think life is really a beautiful experience because of the odds it take for a being to BE and THINK and react with the physical world :)

If you still get those questions, it might be that you still haven't found your answers yet, give it time and i'm sure you'll get over it, i know it's depressing knowing there is no great purpose of life, but don't expect too much and take life as simple as it is.
    Peace

Same here. It feels like a more complex symptom of mental illness to me.

    I do. Every damn day.
    I think it’s normal, however I’m not a psychologist.

I believe in God, and I believe our purpose here is to love and serve Him by loving and serving those He has placed around us.

I do understand what you're saying, and I know if I didn't have my beliefs I would be thinking and fearing the same things.

Perhaps, even if you don't believe in God, your purpose could be searching for truth.

Yeah, that’s what I initially thought. When I first thought about religion and the purpose to life, I knew I didn’t believe in religion. I wondered “If I don't believe in religion, than what would be the purpose of life?” And then I thought that finding the truth would be the purpose. However, the quest to find the truth will likely be a hopeless quest, as it’s a goal that will take forever to fulfill, making it meaningless. Maybe first I should focus on making us immortal (or just expand our life expectancy) and that eill give me more time to search the truth. Ha, but by the time I reach an old age I would probably want to not live any longer than like, 90.

Why would you want to increase your life capacity/expencancy if your just going to die anyway. I think about it everyday as well and i belive in God. As a Infine Universe that we live in we dont matter one bit. The dirt your walking on is proboly dead people, animals, and dead plants. My mind reminds me that suicde is an option every 10 min but im 87% sure i will not. But sort of like how people with pets love their pet even if it eats a rock or breaks the lamp, God doesn't say "Bad dog" he just cleans up our mess as long as we dont bite his arm off. The reason that you feel that the world is a decaying peice of crap and that your just one maggot on that turd is because the world is decaying. We will all die and become dirt that someone will grow some potato's over. The only way we can have any meaning to life is to trust that there is a way to preserve who we are via our souls rather than our preserving decaying turd bodies, we need to preseve our identity, our history, and our personality just like poets, authors, actors, and exploers have imprited themselfs in the world forever. And just like these people we need to imprint our being into somting more than a decaying turd. Im not trying to convice you that the path that i beilve is the only way to have meaning because 1. i still haven't found that peace of mind that of knowing that my essence is forever imprinted into the history of the heavens 2. This was mnore of my confession or my relating to your story. Im sorry about ranting about all the mushy feeling stuff cus im not into that either but this was a chance for me to say something out loud that i proboly wouldn't say infront of family or friends. Thanks for letting me speak.
