Based on something a great friend here told me last night, I think maybe you can love more than one person but you can only be *in* love with one. Although to add my own personal touch of negativity to that, I think loving more than one person makes it harder to have the level of passion required to be *in* love with either of them because your attention is split in more than one direction.
I think that concisely describes how I feel at the moment.
EDIT: Obviously you can love more than one person in a platonic friendship way or a family way, but I'm talking only about romantic love.
