Is it normal to puke every time?

So I did cross country running starting my Junior year of high school and I noticed that after every race (5K) I would feel like I had to throw up. There were times where nothing actually came up, but the reflex was happening, other times I would puke up whatever I had in my system when I ran. Ever since then I noticed that this happens almost every time I try to run, mostly when I feel under pressure or when I know I am close to the end. One time it even happened while I was running. Is this normal?

It could be because you drank too much water. When I was on track, I remember my friend used to throw up after a long run when he drank too much.

Well it depends. Do you eat right before running? If you've had a large meal 1-2 hours before running/exercising you don't give your stomach enough time to digest the food. When you start running etc the blood rushes away from your stomach (vital organs- process called vascular shunting if you'd like to read up on it) and goes to all your working muscles. If you stop exercise abruptly the blood rushes back to your stomach and it will basically result in you puking. Just make sure you drink enough water and eat at least 4-5 hours before any sports activity.
