Well, I hate to be negative to you, but that's why you have to be careful with who you talk to online. You never know who is behind the screen. For all we know, I could be Hitler, having faked my own death but is still alive due to a giant machine that supports my brain activity. Now whether or not this is true, I'm not willing to admit ;) But I think that you may have learned a valuable lesson in all this.
I don't know if you ever heard the story, but it was on Dateline a few years back in which a man swore he was in love with a beautiful, blonde model. He ignored his wife and kids to spend time, online with this girl. It came down to the point where she found someone else (who was a lot younger and handsome) to talk to. The guy became jealous and killed the other guy. It didn't really get sad until the end, however, whenever he found out the the blonde model, was actually her old, haggish mom using her daughter's photo to pretend to be her.
I'm glad your story didn't end as devestating as hers, but let's look at this more as a learning experience.
Well, I didnt get nearly as involved as your example did, and the only reason I went along with this in the first place was b/c I havent had a g/f...well...ever. If I had a wife and a kid, the last thing I would be doing would be chatting online with a random "supermodel". But I see what your trying to say, however negative it may be.
Is it normal to pretend to be another gender online?
