"To steal ideas from one is plagiarism, to steal from many is research."
I used to upload my artwork to facebook, but then I got super internet paranoid and took it all down. People "borrowing" things on the net is so common, nobody pays attention to copyright and people don't understand the amount of work that goes into creating the original image, they just see it on google images and use it. It is actually intellectual property theft and at times a violation of copyright to use the work, or words of another person without giving them credit.
How can you feel good about people "liking" stuff which is not your own? They are simply liking someone else's work under the disguise its your own. It's far more gratifying to come up with your own ideas and have a few people liking it, than to use someone elses and have many like it. surely! Don't you feel guilty?
Also, your friends on facebook would think that you are wittier or more insightful than you actually are if you continue to borrow the ideas of others. You may eventually be caught out on this or regarded as fake. Some people may even recognize the source material. I'd be careful.
I've included this short youtube comedy skit (from the show "big train") that sums it up. And its funny. Enjoy :)
