I never defecate in a public washroom. I literally can't, it just doesn't happen. The only time I was ever able to was when I was sick and close to shitting myself and I used an Irving bathroom. It was one of those big ones thats only got that one toilet, so it's sort of like a private bathroom since you're the only one in it, and it was really clean and smelled nice.
10 minutes of tactical shitting later, it remains the only public bathroom I've ever shit in.
