I was just joking. Seriously though, I can't think of a poor country where the harmonica is popular. Here in Brazil it's pretty rare - the guitar is far more popular.
We do have some pretty mean poverty here but nothing like Africa for example.
By the way, if you look up harmonica on wikipedia, they say that it is popular in the US and was, at one time, very popular in Japan and China. It was invented in Europe in the 19th century. I wonder if that fact really is true about the harmonica being widely played than the guitar.
Is it normal to play an instrument?
