Is it normal to pee in the house and blame it on the pet dog or cat?

Whenever I was little I would pee in the house because it was fun to pee somewhere that wasn't the toilet. But, since my parents kept realizing there was pee everywhere, I just said that the dog kept peeing inside the house. I would pee in the trash-which i blamed on my cats, outside on the walls of the house, or sometimes just inside on the ground because it was fun. I would blame it on the dogs or cats.

So far my cats and dogs have gotten neutered/spaded because apparently peeing is a sign they're horny or something?
