For two days of work and fuel expenses for his vehicle, 100 bucks isn't much.
Some people say it's too much money, cause it's a friend, but so what?! It's his time, his vehicle and probably one whole weekend, without the chance to unwind. Friends are not slaves that can carry and move your shit, just cause you are friends. Even if it's a best friend, you gotta thank him for his help properly.
Be thankful your boyfriend's mate helped. If you had to resort to a moving company, it would have cost a helluva lot more than 100 dollars.
I've helped 2 of my friends move and provided the transport (the dealership van - extra long Sprinter) and both of my friends paid me 50 and 60 Euro. 20 bucks alone went for fuel... full size, V6 vans don't run on hopes and dreams XD
Both times moving took about 6 hours, cause they already had most stuff ready to go and not much heavy furniture. They were also smart enough to take apart large furniture so it's easier to move.
Is it normal to pay a friend $100 for helping with two days of moving?
