Is it normal to pay a friend $100 for helping with two days of moving?

  • If its somebody you're friends with beer and pizza is a normal pay arrangement

    • Still a cheap and dick move... Even if you are best friends. It's still time, fuel expenses and a wasted weekend.

If I helped someone move for 2 days and they repaid me with cheap ass pizza and 2 beers, I'd definitely be pissed of and probably cut all ties with that friend, cause I know where we stand when it comes to valuing work and each other. If that friend is on hard times, inviting me over for dinner, or for a barbecue when they get the new place sorted out would be a good enough thanks, but if they do have money, it's just being a cheapskate and a shitty friend.

Beer and pizza are good enough pay for helping someone repaint a few rooms, or helping them work on their car, or something like that, but not for moving house.

Friends aren't glorified slaves that must help you and work for nothing, just cause you are friends.
