Well it's good that you have one best friend but it'd be wise for both of you to have a few others friends in case the worst ever happened. Some of my 'tightest' relationships eventually unraveled and those I thought I could trust or count on have let me down.
There are no certainties in life, so it's better to be prepared for anything. A few friends gives you more options and also a safety net in case your bff is no longer around for some reason or if you break up.
