is it normal to only be attracted to your own race?

  • Yes it's normal.

You can't choose who or what you're attracted to. It's a combination of nurture and nature.

You might find, it you had a lot of non-black women in your social group, eventually you would start to find them attractive.

    Anyway, your friend is wrong.

    • I've always thought about the nature part, but never the nurture part. But that makes complete sense, and would explain things better.

      • Of course! Nurture has a big impact, not so much on your base sexual orientation (straight, bisexual, homosexual etc.), but on your preference within your sexual orientation; things like preferred eye colour, hair colour, face shape, body shape, personality type, ethnicity and so on.

By nurture I should mention that I don't exclusively mean childhood. In fact preference is ever-shifting. The general type of lady you are attracted to now may be very different from the type of lady you are attracted to in 10 years time, or were 10 years ago.
