Is it normal to often taste my newborn?

When Sarah was born 2 weeks ago i gave her many kisses. Soon I found myself licking my lips after each kiss. I could almost taste to softness and the gentle baby lotion my wife applied. I have now begun to extend my tongue subtly between my lips when kissing baby Sarah. Usually, I just lick her cheek. I feel closer than ever when liking my child, as simple hugs and average kisses just don't have the same connection.
