Is it normal to not want to love someone anymore?

This guy I love, I want to forget, but it's been years and all I can do is love him..I am so afraid that no matter how many guys I date, I will never love any as much as him. He's single and still my friend, but we're not as close and we used to date and well..I can't stop loving him after years and years. I so want to stop. I wish I never met him.
