Not normal. When they get into a relationship with you and want to change you (even though you were like that when you first started dating) is ridiculous. Dont change who you are for someone else. If they're that insistent, dump em because you can do better. Also, you shouldn't let what your father thinks bother you. From my experiences, most older people insult their kids because their jealous of their kids youth or angry about how their life turned out and they're too old to do anything about it.
