Most guys want to be taller. I don't see the point. I'd rather be average height. Things like clothing, cars, etc are made for the average height. Plus tall men tend not to live as long. I'm 6'0" which a little above average, and I'd rather be shorter than taller.
I don’t understand the obsession with being tall either, not fitting in train seats, trousers flapping at your ankles, sometimes struggling to hold a standing conversation with average sized people, the list goes on. Once a guy gets over 6”2 his life becomes increasingly more awkward and there are more downsides than benefits.
I was like that when I was skating as a teenager. It looks goofy when ur 6 3 grinding handrails for some reason. And also like you said everything is built for short people.
I always excused my refusal to participate in sports like skiing and skating by pointing out that my centre of gravity was much higher than the average bear's, so I was inherently less stable and more prone to fall
The truth is that I've always been a lazy bastard with no interest in sports of any sort.
6 foot 1, will not be able to realistically drive my dream car (an MG Midget) without modifying to push the seat back, and I have no idea how I could do that or if it's done. The height is nice, I feel weird when I have to look up at people and I like to not have that feeling often.

I'm 6'4". The fact is that there's not much we can do about our height. How tall we grow is determined by genes and childhood nutrition, so once you're an adult, the best thing is to accept whatever you are.
There are advantages to being taller than average: most women seem to prefer for taller guys, and studies have found that taller people tend to be seen as more authoritative than those who are shorter and they tend to earn more over their lifetime. Even though I was a rather weird, geeky kid, I never had any problems with being bullied or idiots picking fights with me over some stupid shit since I was always tall for my age.
The main downside is indeed that a lot of the world is made to fit those of average height. The worst period for me was the decade I spent in the Navy. Military ships tend to have lots of things hanging off the ceiling on metal brackets, and I lost count of how many times I whacked my head on something metal and ended up with blood dripping down my face.
Getting clothing that fit me used to be a huge pain, but it's not so bad these days. People are slowly getting taller on average, so manufacturers know there's a market for tall sizes, lots of online retailers stock larger sizes, and most decent bricks and mortar clothing and shoe shops now stock at least a few things that fit me.
My wife is Dutch, and the first time I visited her in The Netherlands, I suddenly understood what other people must have felt like when they were around me. On average, Dutch men and women are only a couple of inches taller than the average heights in the USA and UK. But that average is skewed by older people who were very young during the immediate post-WWII period when there were problems with food supply that caused varying degrees of childhood malnutrition. Younger Dutch people seem to be almost all freaking tall, and I always encounter lots of guys in the twenties and thirties that I need to look up at when I visit The Netherlands.
Very normal. My boyfriend is 6'4 and feels the same way. He has to shop at "big and tall" stores for nice clothes, he's hit his head on ceilings, a lot of furniture is uncomfortable to use, and he can't fit well into a lot of cars.
