Cussing is somewhat comical when used properly. Like a 5 year old that says "Chit" because her dad says "Shit" all the time. Its pretty dark and irresponsible when a 5 year old says "Fuck you Cunt," because mommy and daddy are getting a divorce.
I'm a big fan of the swearing, but man...a guy I know says fuck and fuckin' so much that it's seriously annoying and it has no meaning! Seriously, it's every 2nd or 3rd word out of his mouth. I've spent much of my adult life working in bars and no one I've ever encountered in any bar swore near half as much as this man. Typical sentence: "that fuckin guy sits on his fuckin ass and collects fuckin disability while I gotta fuckin work at this fuckin place" I am not shitting you, that's exactly what he said one time. Oh-and the fuckin place he works is fuckin McDonalds, so I don't fuckin think he has learned when to shut the fuck up with the fuckin swearing.
So, anyway, swearing is fine when used as what you may call a "flavoring" word, but there's a limit to what even a potty-mouth can take as far as listening to you swear-and also there's times when you need to be able to communicate without swearing, so make sure you have and practise a good back-up vocabulary so you're not caught off guard.
I kind of swear a lot. I will around my boyfriend (who rarely swears unless he's with foul-mouthed guy friends, aha--he's all 'gentlemanly' around me), but never around strangers, family, sibs or friends.
I tend to use the same three 'damn it', 'fuck', 'shit' and their variations.
I know them to be words with multiple meanings that many people tie to derogatory terms. I could be saying 'tunafish', it just happens that those three were the first I heard shouted in frustration, so I copied.
They rarely mean anything (I'll say fuck and shit at good things), they're just exclamations or something to ease frustration.
fuck those fucking fucks, i dont give a fuck hahaha
nah i dont care. just because someone tells you something is bad, that doesnt actually make it so. i dont consider someone who swears a lot as being a bad person or someone who lacks intelligence. they just dont conform to the "rules".
the only people i dont swear around are my parents. i still say shit etc but i will tone down the fucks and i have never said cunt in front of them either.
but shouldnt the people who dont swear respect us "swearers" by swearing in conversation if they expect swearers to tone swearing down to show them respect? i think respect should go both ways.
I curse...a whole fucking lot...yet I do respect those that don't and I refrain from cursing around them.
I cuss like a mother fucker its just words but if u know it offends somebody i dont do it. Gotta have respect
