Is it normal to not like tyler perry plays?

I'm black, and I think they make my people look bad. They all have drama focused on adultry, rape, women abuse, or poverty. All of his plays have at least one of those topics. It's just drama for drama sake. I'll admit I watch them, but so many people say his plays are "powerful" and have a message. I watch them for entertainment, but I don't think they're special. I know these things happen in real life, and it sucks, but I think he's basically exploiting them and the drama that comes with it for a profit.

    I say you should be offended even. Tyler Perry's shows that I have seen portray black people as idiotic and bumbling buffoons.

    Whatever happened to good-natured shows like Bill Cosby and Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Those shows were actually good and not completely idiotic.

    ugh , I'm half black and I absolutely HATE Tyler perry movies and plays and shows.
    they're nothing but satires of black people and have no real lesson, and if there is one it's very preachy.
    the characters are nothing but walking stereotypes and the story line is exactly how you described it, in every damn play.
    frankly, I think that he is a talentless writer. . .
