I think it depends on where or what it is if it is trashy or not. How well it is done also makes a difference.
If it's some criminal type with a bunch of random doodles or gang signs then yeah it looks bad. Face tattoos are the worst.
At the very least people should spend the money to get one professionally done instead of going to their buddy who does them in his garage for cheap.
The argument about what it will look like later in life - most of us look like hell the older we get anyways so what's the difference?
