It is very normal to not like an idiot who has had permanent ink injected into their flesh. There are always exceptions but generally tattoos are indicative of a member of the lower socioeconomic classes. The more tattoos the lower their class status. Certain tattoos also indicate who are the mentally ill among us and who belong to gangs where crime is the norm.
Most high-class folks shun that idiocy the low-class dregs and scum revel in.
I would say you'd be correct about previous generations, but not in the modern world.
Correlation between intelligence and tattoos? Maybe for some people. But I think there is no longer much link between class and tattoos. Things have changed a lot.

Where I live plenty of rich folks have tattoos so I doubt it's a class thing.
