I’m nearly 18 and have never been in a relationship and have never kissed/been kissed by someone romantically and I don’t want to. What’s so appealing about kissing? I’d imagine it’d feel gross, someone’s squishy, wet, possibly chapped mouth rubbing against me doesn’t sound like a pleasant experience.

kissing isn’t unappealing at all, it’s that you are just being a damned weirdy or mentally stunted in some way.
It's normal but if you like someone, please inform that person before you move further in relationship your views towards kissing. So that person can decide well about you. For any relationship romance and sex is equal pillar. If they aren't stable later or sooner big turnoff can come in relationship.

You’re right, sometimes it is just gross. Apparently if you’re with someone you’re attracted to and they have soft lips and don’t swirl their tongue around like a washing machine it can be good, but I can’t speak from personal experience there.
