I think this is pretty normal, I have a cousin who is also about 9, he is adorable most of the time but after a 3hr bus ride sitting next to him, I have concluded that:
1. Never combine a 12hr flight with a 3hr bus trip
2. Children love candy
3. Have a bag of candy with you, when you need some peace and quiet, give them a piece in exchange for them playing somewhere else or staying silent for a period of time.
Is it normal to not like a 9 year old?
