Is it normal to not know whether to report this guy or not...?

    • Agreed. And tell no one.
If this guy is just stoned, I don't see what the big deal is, but if he is drinking or doing other drugs AND he has a car full of minors, his ass needs to be reprimanded.

I work in security and I have called the cops for DUIs many times. I'd rather see one asshole go to jail than a family of 5 killed by some little shit who has no regard for the lives of others or for the kids in his car that lack the brain developement to make a logical decision as to whether or not their willing to put their lives at risk to have a few hours of drunk stupidity.

      • brain damage isn't pretty too.

one of my college friends was on his way to a bright career when a careless driver stole it from him.

oddly enough i don't think drugs or alcohol were involved. just speed. but that chose to put his own desires first (getting someplace way too fast) and decided no one else mattered.

i wonder how my friend would be if he hasn't lost so much that night

        • I worked with a guy who was hit by a woman doing 60 mph in a school zone while he was a kid in elementary school crossing to get to school. He said his ribs were broken and it took months for him to fully recover. He told me that they took the woman to court where, when asked why she was speeding by the judge, she responded that she was late for a nail appointment.

She almost took a kid's life because she was late for a nail appointment. Studies have shown that speeding only really deducts a tiny percentage of commute time at best. You may not get caught speeding but if you speed and hit a pedestrian who was jaywalking, any legitimate defense you had is gone. I wonder if people realize that...

          • in my friend's case the driver was doing 70 in a 25 zone. delivering pizza.

and your statement on speeding is very true. i use to do 10 over on the highway which isn't out of line here. but i find that dropping to only 5 over gets me there just as fast and ... my gas is lasting a bit longer too.

            • Yup, found myself doing the same especially since gas is $4.35 here now. I live in San Diego so doing 75-80 isn't exactly out of line here v.v
