  • Maybe you can't show emotion because you are afraid of how the people around you will react. This makes you show a side of you that isn't who you really are. From my personal experience, you have to force yourself to lose that fear over time. It's not good for you to feel alone or trapped behind the masks you've created. That feeling can be very claustrophobic and you can end up hurting yourself emotionally because you don't feel normal. People around you aren't always judging you... You may have had bad experiences with people in the past, but that doesn't mean everyone will hurt you. Eventually you will find a person you will want to open up to. You won't have to change completely over night, but you will find that if you try to be less afraid and show little bits of you that you're not scared to show, it will get easier over time. We all have emotions, and we all have different opinions and feelings, and you imagine every possibility before it happens so you're not caught off guard. You just need to be more confident and proud of who you are, and that will make you more open. I think it's more a matter of fear and lack of confidence that it is a "disease". You just need to change your attitude, even if at first you feel uncomfortable about it, you'll feel better and happier over time.
