Is it normal to not have sex for over 2 years and still be in love?

I have been married for 12 years, and we have been together for 17 years. For the past couple of years we both have no sex drive and neither of us are seeing other people. My friends say it's true love when you don't need sex in your relationship. I don't think it's strange, we really love each other very much and I am in my mid 30's and he late 40's. Sex is just not important and we can live without it.

    yeah I'll agree with that.
The only girl I've ever been truly in love with, sex failed to matter, as long as I was with her.

I do not think it is at all normal and I believe you both need to go to a doctor and get check ups. Many humans have normal sexual desires well into their 70's these days, so you will miss a lot of pleasant times with your loved one if you settle for your present state of sexual disinterest.

I believe it can happen. It's easy to be without sex for a wile. Suddenly everything starts as before.
