I assume you are one of those millenials? If so - typically people your age have their noses buried in their cell phone's ass so they are unaware of the world around them. A "Friend" has merely become some random stranger on facebook.
Plus it seems the young adults nowadays have these super high standards of others. part of the bigger problem of people not willing to give the same respect that they expect out of others.
If you are Gen X, Well by now we are at an age where people are tired of other's bullshit so we try to avoid contact with others. We hate different people for different reasons but it all comes down to not wanting to be bothered.
So, you are not really any worse off than anyone else.
