Is it normal to not feel suicidal during devastating events?

So, whenever something really devastating happens, like a family member dying, or at the brink of stress that would drive other people suicidal, I just feel a little sad then be completely normal, is this normal? Please reply!

I'm jealous of you. I always get really sad for stupid reasons, or sometimes no reason at all.

It's abnormal to think it's normal to have suicidal thoughts.

I feel the same, no worries. Death is death, as long as you miss them in some way. If you don't feel devastated then don't be.

I think you are just very brave. Its no bad thing to not be suicidal it just means you are just able to get through stress much better than most people. Not everyone gets suicidal when all hell breaks loose. I wish i could take a leaf out of your book i get upset over nothing!

I'm the same way. But, no, it's probably not normal. Everyone's like, "You're just in denial/shock." But I know I'm not, yanno?

Everyone's different. I don't think it makes you any stronger I think you're lucky. Not everyone gets depressed but some are susceptible to it when under stress, and some people feel no emotions.

  • I think that's normal if it's not your mother/father/child or someone you're really close to.

When my Aunt Lily died I was sad but not suicidal because that wouldn't be normal. It would actually be overdramatic really.
