Is it normal to not care about anything when you have a huge headache?

When I have a huge head-splitting headache, I lose complete interest in almost anything and don't care at all. If someone we're to bring me bad news I would just graciously accept it just to get it over with and such. Is this normal?

    Thank god, I alomost never have headaches. But I heard plenty of stories about exactly this.
