I wouldn't say that it was a waste of time. I am sure that he did response your prayers, but when an individual wants so many things he does not realise that. You cannot get everything you want just like that. Things take time to happen whether you pray or not. It is not only up to him to response to everything that you pray for. It is up to you to make sure that you drive yourself to achieving whatever it is you were praying for to happen. Don't give up on him, life is tough for most of us. Just because you did not get everything does not mean that he does not listen to you. Sometimes we are being selfish in our prayers. However, when you really do want something to happen you have to pray so strong and mean it. Only then will your prayers start to be answered.
If you would like someone to respond, then you should use proper grammar. Then you might get a response.
They are asking to please use religious words very sparingly, as these words reinforce beliefs that simply are not true.
They advise quiet contemplation at an appropriate time and place. They do not appreciate ritualistic behaviour. The ritual that has been discussed in this forum is viewed as an insult to them and toward yourself. They would like you to have more confidence in yourself. They would like you to co-operate better with others. This world has many serious problems that we need to overcome. Religion is a flagrant waste of time and resources.
There will be happy people in this world, whether there is religion or not.
I understand what you mean, I just don't understand how God hears everyone. If he can hear us pray then why would he let people die in natural disasters or other things. I know people cant always live forever but at least let them die from old age instead of feeling a lot of pain and fear
I understand why you are thinking that. However, why do people always blame God for everything bad in the world? I am not saying that I am happy when disasters happen, and trust me, I wish that everyone could live a good life and die from old age; but, whatever we believe in, there are always choices which lead us into certain situations.
One cannot just rely on God and expect life to be a bed of roses. We have all been given a life and it is up to us to choose how to live it, off course based on our own circumstances.
However, I will make a different example to yours, just to make sure that there are two sides to a story too. You talk of natural disasters, I will talk of murderers. Don't you think that murderers have a choice in killing their victims, and choosing a way by which to kill them? Is that God's fault also? The victims sure do die feeling a lot of pain and fear, but it was not God who told the murderer to go and kill their victim at a certain place and time.
When it comes to natural disasters, I think that God does it in order to punish people for all the terrible things which they do in the world. It is God's choice, so I don't know how to reply to that. A human mind might not be capable of understanding his intentions, but who am I to stop him?
But why doesn't he help the people who are in danger. For example, a man/woman prays every day and goes to church on Sundays. One day they are walking and a man shoots him/her. They prayed and went to church every sunday, don't you think they should have had a good life. I really like your responses but I just don't see him as a God, I don't think there should be a god
Dying like that does not mean that they didn't live a good life. There are so many ways to die, and unfortunately people do get shot. I cannot explain God. However, I will not say something against him either.
I know what you mean and I know why people ask those questions, but how is he supposed to help them? (I know that he can, but his reasons are unknown) We all know that a person can die by being shot in their stomach. That person staying alive will pretty much be considererd a miracle, so it is not surprising that the person dies anyway.
Sorry for saying there shouldn't be a god, I felt like shit for saying that cuz you strongly believe in him -_____- I don't want to say I lost hope in him, I just don't see a God in my thoughts or life
I don't feel bad. I understand your point of view. It is just that I believe that one should have God in their life even though people find it hard to do so. Never lose hope!
Is it normal to not believe in God anymore?
