Is it normal to not be over my ex?

Me and my ex knew eachother for about three years. A few months ago we stopped talking and I have been trying to move on from him. I have accepted that we will never be with eachother again. But It feels like I can't stop thinking about him still, and every time it feels like i'm starting to get over it, all the feelings and memories of him come back to me and I feel myself slipping back into my depression. Is this normal?

Some people say that it takes however long you were with someone to be fully over them. It could take less. It could take more. It's very normal.

Yeah, pretty much. It just seems to be a normal thing that when you've spent quite a lot of time with som1 that the person would still be on your mind. Don't think you can really do much about it besides just accept that you'll think of them every now and then
