Is it normal to not be disgusted by what serial killers do?

I love reading things on serial killers like Jefferey Dahmer, Albert Fish, Ted Bundy, ect. Yet I always hear people being like "How could someone do something so horrible?" or "Those poor people." but I never think of the victims in that light. I like hearing the horrifying things they went through and rarely ever feel disgust or anything over interest/curiosity. I have looked at body photos from the victims and such but it still just fascinates me but never disgusts me or makes me feel sad about it.

Is It Normal?

  • I think it's pretty common. Remember the creepy pasta phase of the internet when people wanted to fuck slender man? However, just because something is common doesn't mean it's okay. Those people aren't to be admired. Why would you even want to talk to someone who has no regard for human life, including yours? You need therapy, too. Your reason for not wanting to kill people is that they scream too loud and not, ya know, basic Kantian respect.

    • Fair enough. I've wanted to meet them mostly because they are fascinating like why would you want to kill someone? what's it like in their head? ect. I enjoy abnormal psychology.

      • I do too! I work with psychologically ill patients all the time, but it's important to make the distinction that what this person did is NOT okay and that they need help to rectify that behavior.

  • Why don’t you email them? Invite them over. I mean, maybe you’re meant to be another Jeffery dahmer.
