Is it normal to not be bothered by annoying people.

Recently my parents asked me if i how i liked my room-mate and if i would live with him next year and i honestly said yes. but after reflecting on this i realized that he would probable be considered an annoying person to live with.

he is constantly on skype with his girlfriend sometimes even when he is not there. when he is there he is either fighting with her for a ridiculous amount of time for stupid reasons which are from my understanding mostly due to his controlling relationship with her.(This usually occures between the hours of 10pm and 2 in the morning)

when he is not fighting with her he talks weird(like baby talk but not gibberish maybe just lispy). when he is not talking with his gf he is constantly playing cod sometimes until four in the morning and really likes to get into racial fights and harass other players.

I am pretty good at keeping calm and not letting things get to me but when it starts to effect my sleep and therefore my grades is it normal to be "unphased". should i stay with this person next year too?

also completely unrelated but there is this kid at my school who has a habit talking really loud and saying stupid things that seems to annoy everyone around me but i find him amusing especially when he is the only one who is taking part of the conversation. most of the time when i see him it because i am in a room that people in my major use to cram right before a test so its a naturally quite atmosphere.

Is It Normal?

  • If it doesn't bother you then why not? No reason to change roommates if you aren't bothered by him.

  • Hey, count your blessings, lol. I'm easily annoyed, and if someone I knew saw this they would be all, "No way, you're so even-tempered!" Yeah. Just because I'm polite and respectful doesn't mean I'm not constantly envisioning beating you about the head with your disembodied spine. *Ahem.*

But, yeah. It's good that you're not emotionally annoyed with Him, but if it is effecting your work and sleep then you should try and find someone else.
