Yeah.
I casually smoked for..ooh...5(?) years, and quit some day. Haven't smoked since (save for cigars on vacation), but always wanted to take it back up.
I've also used several (illegal and legal) substances, none of which I've ever shown signs of addiction.
I think it must be a tolerance thing: just like some people feel jitters from a cup of coffee, others need eight cups (hell: tea wakes me up, coffee makes me sleepy).
Definitely normal, but it's also definitely normal to be addicted to things. (Though I can't admit I believe in physical addiction, to me it's all mental)
Is it normal to not be able to be addicted to anything?
