Is it normal to never had any sexual desire

I will not tell my life story but this evening at the bar me and my friends were talking about who we would have sex with if there would be no strings attached and it would be consensual.
I didn't want to and never wanted to have sex with anyone I could think of. is it normal ?

Gee - no fantasies even? That does seem odd. Talk to your doc.

    • And what exactly should I tell him ? It's not like I broke my foot. I don't think he'll understand it.

Really nothing? Do you not even find her sexy or something?
How old are you by the way?

    • It depends on how you define "sexy" If it's like she/he is very beautiful than yes. But I don't want to have sexs with them. I don't even know who they are.

And I'm 20 and have been this way my entire life.

I see. You are still very young though. These things sometime change. Do you want to change btw or is this state okay for you?

        • It's difficult to say, I'll probably check my hormone levels. If there is something wrong I'll take the hormone pills so I can see what the fuss is about.

I've read that up to 10% of the population is asexual. So if you're OK with not having a sex drive it's all good. On the other hand if you WANT to have a sex life, see your doctor. Maybe your hormone levels are too low or something.

10%? That seems like a lot. That'd mean 1/10 of the people you meet are asexual. Are you sure it's not less?

To put things in perspective: 3.8% of the US population is gay or bisexual, and homosexuality is way more common than asexuality. I don't believe there are three times more asexuals than there are gays.

I don't recall the exact study so I wasn't able to look it up. I dunno maybe it was 1%.

    • just because something is common doesn't mean it's normal. I mean, a lot of people have cancer. Is that normal too?
Having no sexual urges isn't normal. The entire existence of species is based on sexual desire.

        This. ^
Asexuality is rather rare (1% of the population or so) so definitely not normal.

    Good for you

  • Well I can most certainly say that your sexual equilibrium is flawed. You are the typical ambivalence of a false variety that I find my self bemoaning. For what is life without sex? An aberration? I'm inclined toward the notion of it being a simply joyless self gratitude that the effected can take comfort in clinging against like rats a rocking ship.

I'm constantly horny and I solve it by fapping.
Even being horny, at the moment, I can think of no-one that I'd actually want to bang.

It could just be that there's currently no-one in your life that appeals to your personal taste. (as is my case)

Statistically speaking, 1/100 are asexual. I've thought about the same thing, rather not actually think about it. You may lack the libido or sexual interest currently but that could change. Don't limit yourself tocategories if suddenly you find yourself sexually attracted to someone then great if not then your drive must be low. You can be with someone without being sexual (0-0).

It seems most people I know like this...they have no sexual desire or relationship desire at all really, they just don't know why people feel that way and they have felt that way you are Asexual. It doesn't mean you reproduce by yourself, you just don't think you are meant for anyone?

I think it is a slight problem. testosterone is the stuff that controls mans sex drive and competitiveness. are you competitive, if you are then its not that big a problem. if you are not then then you are low on hormones.

I am the same way, but I tend to get sexual pleasure from fetishes and fantasies that do not include the act of sex. I always hated when my friends talked about sex because we were never on the same page and sex never interested me.

Don't sweat it. Everyone is different. Everyone's sex drive is different. I don't think it's something to worry about unless you want to have a sex drive.

Everybody is different, as long as your okay with the way you are, I see no problems with it.

Personally I don't think I could do it!
