I think the problem is psychological... How do you know what temperature it is to the exact degree anyway? With blankets it would be warmer still. Reduce the temperature one degree at a time. Make yoursef keep it at this temperature for several weeks (or until you are comfortable at that temperature) before dropping it another degree. You could think of it as "aclimatising" yourself.
Is it normal to "need" to sleep in an 88 degree room?
