Hardship was the grotty bed / floor brought about by an insatiable desire for adventure. Shit, sorry about assuming the Ms title. Nevertheless, a bit of a girl's blouse. Take a teaspoon of cement and harden the ferk up.
Written Aussie can appear very rude, but when spoken it is not harsh or an insult intended. We use the most outrageous slang metaphors and rhyming slang to express endearment. And the feeling is mutual. Rushing to catch train. to BKK, later.
