It's an interesting observation. Of the mixed race couples I know, four of them consist of white males and non-white females and only two the other way around (one Ghanaian, and one Indian with white girls). Given that, if you're not white in my predominantly white country, you're most likely male, I should be friends with more couples where the male is non-white, I wonder if I'm discriminating and I'm friends with the white male regardless of the race of his girlfriend rather than friends with the female regardless of the race of her boyfriend. Probably too small a sample size (in my case) to judge, but interesting all the same.
