Its all about “knowing your audience” off color remarks or hot topic jokes can be funny.
But that’s assuming that you have the proper audience for them. Ones that know its a joke and not meant in a malicious way.
But if they are malicious or you are an unforgiving asshole and say shitty things cause your so “badass” and “edgy”. Nahh that’s just lame
You can't satisfy everyone. There will always be someone who gets offended. Don't worry and carry on.
Just dont be like me and grow up in a small town that had no racial tensions, and then move into the city thats majority black and tell everyone you work with thats black racial jokes all the time 🤣. I found out the hard way, when i was young, it's a different culture in the city. Looking back I dont know how I didn't get punched for some of the shit I said.
Yeah dude i use to go to this drug dealers house in the hood and id walk in there there'd be 10 black dudes and im the only white guy and id come in with "wow smells like yall are cooking something let me guess chicken? Yall gonna have watermelon for dessert". When someone had a cup id be like "You drinking coolaid" kind of funny looking back. I thought race stuff happened in the 60s i didnt know ppl still cares.
Liberal here. Yes, it's normal, you just have to know your audience. I don't believe in policing humor. It's one thing to speak out against hate speech - but at one point you start getting awfully close to censorship.
