20 years old and THEN they met their natural Dad?
Where the hell has he been all these years? Where was his loving support? Where was he at xmas and birthdays and when the child won a ribbon at school athletics? Where was he at the toddler stage the preteen stage and the difficult teenage stage?
He should have NO respect.
Yes the 'kids' (20yo) can meet up with him finally as an adult, but I'd suggest they should have hit him in the face. I'm positive any judge would have stood with the 20yo on this.
THAT 'dad' should be prosecuted. He should be held accountable, he should pay!
As for criticizing the loving stepdad. I'm pretty sure not just one punch to the natural dad would be enough.
Do I think that child (even 20yo) should be mighty pissed at their Dad who abandoned them? Yes.
What happened is that in her late 20s, almost 30, the elder sibling's husband had a hobby and they met up with the deadbeat dad who has the same hobby.
I was the youngest of the three. The good dad was MY natural dad. I think both he and I were fucked over by this big time.
I know for a fact Mr. Deadbeat never paid any alimony or child support at all.
It was stepdad who supported and he who gave them away at their weddings.
The fact that he (stepdad) even gave them away at the weddings shows me he was a loving person and they respected and loved him back.
A common interest on the loser Dad, is not enough in my books to give him the respect of even 1 smile. I mean its too bad he didn't die all those years ago, would have been a hell of a lot easier on the kids.
I don't feel they should associate with someone so cruel (cruel would have to be the best word, unless he was locked up for 20 years or had a 20 year amnesia! )
