I think something is wrong if a person doesn't feel comfortable looking at their very own self in the mirror. I find great comfort when I look in the mirror and look into my eyes. It seems that you may be rejecting a part of yourself. You might practice looking at yourself in the mirror for short periods and build up the length of time. Else you are missing out on a great source of comfort and love from your very own self. I like to look in the mirror and say 'I love you' to myself and say other positive things to myself.
Is it normal to make be frightened by your own look?
