Yeah, a year is nothing but men die on average 7-10 years before woman so this is actually beneficial in that aspect at least. So if a woman dates an older guy by more than a few years, he will most likely die way before her and leave her alone for 20 or more years of her life. That's why in the long run, I think it's better to date younger or closer in age unless you don't mind them marrying another after you die/etc.
I.E My great grandmother married my great grandfather who was 15 years older than her but she loved him to pieces. But when she was just 55, he died at age 70. She's been alone ever since for the past 40 or so years.
IIN to make a big deal out of a 1 1/2 year age difference?
