I do this too, only when i do it, i am usually sucking my thumb(I've done it since I was a child) and I rub the fabric between my thumb and my index, or middle finger on my left hand and my middle and ring finger on my right hand, so much so that the front of the top of my fingers have deep calluses on them, and though I am self conscious about them, I can't seem to break either habit.
