I feel the exact same way. If I lose the one that I have I freak out! I am always looking for things that are made of the fabric I like. It's a really rough nylon. I usually buy a bunch of them so if I lose then I have replacements! It is totally an addiction but it doesn't hurt anyone (except my hand sometimes when I rub too long) so why stop. My husband thinks it's funny and could care less so I rub it while we watch tv. It's so relaxing. Nice to know I'm not alone!!!
