  • I got bored and started looking well all I'm 38 I still do this started as a baby could not go with out the blanket or jacket you remember the wind breakers well as I got older I still do the finger and thumb rum of the fabric I found a pair of shorts I wore out so I ended cutting it up till I had several pices put them in my purse and always had one in my pocket for going out in public . My grandma always said that ppl that do this would make a good seamstress lol I started thinking about that ( I would never get anything done I would be to busy rubbing the fabric ) so I guess it is a habit I will never quit feels normal to me ;D

    • Ever since I was a little boy I would rub my blanket raw around the edges. I never thought much of the long term need for the smooth silky feeling. Now I am 31 years old and still love tubing fabric between my thumb and fingers. So much that almost every pocket in my pants and shorts have holes in them. I actually went to upholstery school and have made a fabulous career in automotive upholstery. I can't help it. I don't see why I should stop. Why do I need it so bad. I also have not personally met anyone with this obsession. I get strange looks from people as they watch me play with the fabric in my pockets.

      • So random... but I was just studying for my midterms and I never thought of googling such a thing, but I decided to search "rubbing fingers against pockets" to see what would come up. I didn't see much BUT then I saw this thread with your comment. I have been putting holes in all my pockets and can't stop! Turns out im not the only pocket killer haha!
