Is it normal to love these particular recipes?

I prepare these particular dishes at home, and I think that they taste great. These recipes are actually quite simple. But, I have not really seen other people prepare or eat them before. Let me know if any of you think these sound really good.

Boiled shrimp
Boiled brown rice
Boiled cabbage
Thai peanut sauce

Same as above except with sliced chicken breast

Ribbon or tube pasta
4 cheese rosa creamy alfredo (Bertolli)
ground Italain sausage
topped w/ grated parmesan cheese

Med rare strip steak
A little garlic powder
covered w/ gravy (1 pk Williams Country gravy, flavored w/ real sausage)
Potatoes sliced, boiled, once soft fry in pan in melted butter w/ garlic powder in pan til crisp both sides

Tacos (soft or crunchy), brown ground beef and low sodium taco seasoning, add fairly big slices of yellow and red bell peppers (sometimes sliced onions also), mix in fairly good amount of chipolte sauce cook it all a few more minutes
(quite different from more common way of cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and taco sauce)

In spite of them being fairly simple, I've rarely seen anyone make and eat these particular dishes before. But I love them. That normal? Any of you had anything really close to these before? Any of these dishes sound good to any of you?

    • I guess they can be, particularly the alfredo pasta, that kind of cheesy stuff and things like pizza are often depression food. But not in my case, usually. I just enjoy them, especially when sittin down to a movie or somethin. Got plenty of time that I don't go out now due to the outbreak

    • Lol, you must have me confused with Bubba. We both like shrimp and have that in common though. Idoknow, maybe Bubba did tell Forrest that one of his shrimp dishes had Thai peanut sauce. I'll call the Bubba/Gump shrimpin boat bus-siness and ask 'em.
      Lol

Isn’t it an actual restaurant in the states or something?

        • I think so. I think I heard it's in Alabama or Louisiana near the coast, they have the restaurant there since that's where the shrimp boat business was in the movie. I'm assuming that alot of things on the menu are the different shrimp things that Bubba listed to Forrest in the movie

    • Haha 😂 lol.
Have you ever eaten anything very similar to what I posted? I don't mean steak, I'm sure you and just about every human being in history has eaten steak. I just mean have you had steak or the other mentioned things prepared the very particular way I listed?

Hmm, probably not. Too much goin on there, I usually keep it simple. Tonight I had brown rice with garlic lime shrimp though.

        • That's sounds good, 2 of the ingredients are similar to mine, the shrimp and brown rice part. I may actually try the garlic lime shrimp one night, you gave me a good idea there. I'll just switch the Thai peanut sauce for garlic lime this time with the shrimp and rice, I'll probably still add cabbage because that goes well with Chinese/Asian dishes
