Is it normal to love someone who supposedly hated you?

I had strong feelings for a person back in highschool, and the feeling was mutual for a while until he suddenly broke things off, i still dont know why.He never gave me a reason. We didnt talk at all after that, and in my senior year him and some of his friends started bullying me.
The bullying stopped eventually. I am in college now, and he goes to college in the same city. A good semester into college, he apologized to me and said he would like for us to talk again. We talk now..just normal friend talk, but the problem is i think i still like him, and im questioning his intentions as to why he decided to reconnect with me. He flirts sometimes which drives me crazy..and whenever we talk he mentions different girls' names and says that theyre coming over to do whatever...i dont know if he's trying to me make me feel jealous but its bothering me. I dont want to talk to him as a friend, but i still want to because its something at least...
