It's totally normal. I'm in a similar situation. I'm obsessed with japanese actress Keiko Kitagawa. Yeah she's a real person and she's kept a blog on and off for the past 8 years but I can't say I know her personally, for all I know her true personality is totally different than how she presents herself. She is an actress.
You don't want to be hurt, a fictional character is incapable of hurting or rejecting you. It's your minds way of compensating for a lack of love in real life.
Sometimes I feel like I don't need anything else to be content. I can just admire from afar and never be rejected, with a false, superficial sense of 'love'. Like a drug it does feel good, however it is also leaves you with a lonely happiness in the end.
Is it normal to love someone who doesn't exist?
