OP you're gonna torture yourself if you don't give it a shot. And if you're really good friends, and she's just not interested then odds you guys will get over it eventually. However, it not working could become awkward for awhile and you guys may end up just being casual friends. This may not be a terrible thing though when you become 16/17, because you'll probably hook up with her eventually. Hooking up with her would only be possible if you guys weren't that close. So I would do it now.
